Grand opening

February 15th, 2014

Well, here we are, it's the middle of winter and we're so looking forward to going to the beach this summer! Guess what? Now there is a place you can stop on your way to Ocean City and points south. It is called the Dragonfly Galleria and it's right on route 50 in Cambridge south of the Walmart. This is a first for me, I have never participated in a galleria before. I'm looking forward to having people enjoy my artwork live and in person! I only wish I could be there every day. In any case it's a wonderful place to go there are many artworks by many different artists in many different media. I hope that if you're on the Eastern shore, in Delaware or headed south towards Ocean City and points south you will stop by the Dragonfly Galleria on route 50. 3113 Ocean Gateway, Cambridge, Maryland.

New group

April 10th, 2012

I keep getting these awesome stop-action photos submitted to my motion blur group... So I have created a new, stop-action kinetic group. We shall see how it works!

Playing with photos...

March 20th, 2012

I started a new contest... Bad photos that we played with to turn into works of art. Why not? We have some pretty cool entries already!

And the winner is...

And the winner is...

Me! I was surprised indeed when I saw I took first place in my own contest! And the first contest I hosted, too! LOL.

I didn't feel right awarding myself the prize, though, since each vote raises one's rank in the search engine when people are looking for specific things. Did you know that? You really need to make sure you have LOTS and lots of keywords, and vote for your own images, and get your friends to vote for them too.

So in the interest of fairness, I bumped the prizes down, so second, third, and fourth place get mentioned in this blog as well as voted for.

Mary Deal, who got Second Place with her fantastic Rock Fisherman, (http://fineartamerica.com/featured/rock-fisherman-mary-deal.html) gets ten images voted for by me.

Ellizabeth Hart, Third Place with her wonderful Rhythm (http://fineartamerica.com/featured/1-rhythm-elizabeth-hart.html) got five images voted for, as well as the mention here.

Kristin Elmquist's Blacksmith (http://fineartamerica.com/featured/blacksmith-kristin-elmquist.html) netted her two votes, and this plug.

There were some other very AWESOME participants in the contest (Shoutouts to Rory Trappe, Emanuel Tanjala, and Karen Wiles, among others).

Please make sure to visit any of these wonderful artists pages, and vote for the images you like. :)

And please, feel free to join the newly formed Kinetic Photography group!

Oh, and all of you, I've also featured you in my OTHER blog! (http://carbinela.blogspot.com/2012/03/and-winner-is.html).

Photographically yours,
Rrrose

Diversity

January 31st, 2012

WEll, I've just uploaded some more pics... trying to get through the thousands of pix on my drive and pick out the best. So very like life. Full of diverse memories and experiences, and you never know what you're going to find as you go through! Some wonderful memories, and some beautiful scenes, pop out from amidst the mundane and drab "average" images.

More

January 28th, 2012

Seems that every time I go out photographing I have more pix to sort through, more pix to study to see if they need post processing, more pix to post... But I have all these other pix from before, too, that I need to sort, examine, play with, etc... How do you deal with all of this, plus work, plus housework, plus married life (lucky for me, my wife loves photography too!) plus all the other things that get in the way?

Oh, we'll. It's all good. And the best thing is that... There is more!

Cool, I can create a blog here too.

January 24th, 2012

Well, I already have a blog for my writer's life... maybe I'll start one for my photographer's life.

I've love photographing since I was a kid, and have recently begun to focus more time and energy to this part of my life... Folks tell me I'm good, and I HAVE sold items, so I guess I'm doing something right!

Well' that's it for my first Rrrose Pix blog! Have a great day.
